Xu Huo walked out of the examination room and asked, "Are there any risks or aftereffects?"
"If the activation goes smoothly, there won't be any aftereffects." Bai Kou looked at him. "Nothing is ever completely foolproof, but if it fails, the worst you'll get is a few months of sore muscles. No big deal."
"Are you afraid?" She raised an eyebrow slightly. "Afraid I'll screw you over, or afraid the activation will fail?"
Xu Huo smiled. "You said yourself that nothing is foolproof. Since I'm the one taking the risk, of course I have to think it through."
After a pause, he added, "You should know by now that someone's been following me. Is it someone from the city government?"
"The city government wouldn't bother tracking a C-class player." Bai Kou fiddled with one of the machines beside her. "And if they wanted to take you out, they wouldn't send someone that weak."
In other words, the city government wouldn't take a C-class player seriously. If the authorities really needed to enforce the law, they'd send the law enforcement team to end the fight as quickly as possible and ensure they caught their target.
"That person wasn't weak," Xu Huo said. "I'm grateful the law enforcement team arrived in time."
Bai Kou scoffed, clearly not believing him.
"Platinum Eye can't keep an eye on every player," she reminded him. "There may be clues when local players go missing, but unless Outer District Players break the law, the law enforcement team generally won't interfere by force."
"This has something to do with you," Xu Huo said.
"There are plenty of things that have to do with me. You're not going to ask me to guarantee your personal safety too, are you?" Bai Kou gave him a cool glance.
