"Seeing how well you were getting along with him, I really thought you were going to introduce him to the mayor." Ji Minzhang leaned against the doorframe. To be safe, he used a sound-suppressing artifact as he spoke.
Shaja glanced back at the two people sitting with their backs to him. "Let's talk outside. We shouldn't linger here."
They went out into the corridor. The players who had followed Ji Minzhang out of the city to meet their guest were all there. Seeing them fully armed, Shaja couldn't help frowning. "What's with all the fuss? Are you planning to tear the place apart?"
"Your 'friend' isn't simple," Ji Minzhang said.
Shaja knew that, of course. Otherwise, he wouldn't have risked bringing Xu Huo to meet the mayor. "I'm no match for him. I can only trouble the mayor to handle this."
He brushed a hand over the walls and door, made of special materials that blocked mental power. "Once he's inside, he shouldn't be able to get out for a while. What's happening outside the city?"
"There are quite a few people out there. They're from Rain City." Ji Minzhang nodded toward the room. "Let's deal with Xu first, then take care of them."
"We can't do that just yet," Shaja said. "The mayor's influence on him hasn't lasted long, and he's wearing a Defense Artifact. If we act rashly, we might wake him. Then he'll be much harder to handle."
Ji Minzhang scoffed. "He's only a C-class player."
"Trust me. Forget that he's a genius with dual Super Evolution. Just his Mental Evolution is enough to toy with you. The building can't stop his mental power. If we'd turned on him earlier, we'd definitely be the ones dead now," Shaja said.
"He dares to hurt the mayor!" I roared.
