"If you really were valuable to the people conducting the experiments, then whether you fell into their hands or died, they wouldn't lose anything."
Xu Huo paused, then continued, "A few hours ago, someone tracked these chips and found me."
Meng Cun hadn't reacted yet, but Jin Zi, sitting beside him, suddenly paled and immediately reached for the item she'd prepared in advance.
But at such close range, how could Xu Huo let her take it out? With a flick of his finger, he sealed her inside a spatial barrier.
"It was only a matter of time before they came looking again." Meng Cun sat up, the wires attached to his head swaying with him. "Where are you planning to take me?"
"To another Sub-district." Xu Huo pointed at his head. "I have a friend who's a Doctor. He's devoted to researching Evolution Potions and might be able to help with your condition. You can hold off on entering Dungeons while you're being treated."
"Do you have a way to get me Gray Player status?" Meng Cun asked tentatively.
"Gray Player status is impossible." Xu Huo couldn't get it himself. "But suspending your Player status shouldn't be a problem."
The District Government could apply to suspend a Player's status, and the requirements were relatively lenient. He had an identity in District 011, so it shouldn't be hard if he paid a little.
"Don't trust him!" Jin Zi said anxiously. "Who knows what he'll do to you? What if he's working with the people who brought the Aliens here? They'll use you as a test subject!"
Meng Cun turned to look at her. "You should have thought of that before bringing him here."
