Someone Opened the Suitcase
Not only the streets but also the Space Rays surging up from underground began to sink. Unlike the streets, however, the Space Rays seemed to be forcibly dragged downward by some force. Their covering weakened, as though their roots had been severed, and they were slowly swallowed by the underground black hole.
The nearby city centered around the Suitcase Man was being swallowed too. It was like an Abyss torn open, with streets and buildings collapsing downward in swathes. Beneath the ground stretched endless darkness, and anything that fell into it vanished completely within seconds!
Looking up at Lawrence Li, who had flown high into the air, the Suitcase Man—half his face hidden behind a Mask—smiled faintly. Then he reached out and grabbed at the air before yanking down hard!
The wheelchair shuddered in midair, but that was all. Lawrence Li then spread his hands apart and brought them together. At once, countless Space Rays converged in the air, gradually forming two enormous gates that stood on either side of the Abyss.
Lawrence Li's colorful Space Rays were actually made up of tiny diamond-shaped tiles. Each segment was covered in countless small facets that could reflect light. Under certain conditions, the Rays seemed to ripple with Rainbow Light from a distance, and the more actively they moved, the more pronounced the glow became.
When thousands upon thousands of Space Rays gathered and coalesced into something that seemed almost real, the Rainbow Light flowed over them like light across a diamond, refracting into a breathtaking brilliance.
The two enormous gates began to topple inward from the edge of the city.
