They had gotten out of the vehicle in the middle of a dense forest. Overgrown vegetation and fungi covered most of the view, and there was no way to tell from any angle whether anyone had ever been here. There were, however, traces left by some wild beasts.
Looking up from the ground, they saw countless trees over a hundred meters tall. Along with their lush branches and hanging vines, strange things floated through the air, resembling the eggs of flying insects. They seemed to be some kind of fungus, but it was hard to say exactly what kind.
After only a short while, Xu Huo looked down and noticed a layer of blue-green growth clinging to his Protective Suit. At first glance, it looked like a patch of bristles, but a closer look revealed that the "bristles" were alive, wriggling like insects, though each was attached to the suit by only one end.
"That's a kind of fungus. Don't worry about it," Chi Xian reminded him, while brushing the green bristles off his own mask. "Just clean it off every so often. Otherwise, it'll grow so thick that it affects your vision."
The other seven had already gone ahead. The forest was quiet, and Xu Huo asked Chi Xian, "What are you thinking?"
"I'm here to look for fungi, so of course I'm going to the place with the most of them." Chi Xian took out his tool, a transparent glass box with a jellyfish-like creature floating inside. "This is a fungus-eating organism. It can detect the concentration of living fungi, so I just have to follow it."
As he spoke, he pointed the glass box ahead. The jellyfish drifted gently inside.
"Want to come with me?" he invited Xu Huo. "I doubt there'll be any Dungeons around here
