Players who entered dungeons had imagined Aliens before, but most players only had a partial understanding of them. The lucky ones might have merely heard that Aliens ate people; the unlucky ones might have gotten caught in a group of Aliens and witnessed them eating someone with their own eyes. But none of that amounted to a deep understanding. People's imaginations were limited when it came to the unknown, so they mostly pictured being chased by Aliens or watching them devour others.
The Cannibal Players who had come today were different. They didn't just eat people; they seemed to have turned it into an art. Nearly a third of the locked wards upstairs had become dining rooms for the "medical staff." The fake patients suffered all kinds of horrific torture in those rooms. For example, to keep their "ingredients" fresh, the staff used special Potions to keep them barely alive. Or, to make the "ingredients" tender and relaxed, they injected them with muscle relaxants. Otherwise, they let them bleed out while caught between sleep and wakefulness.
Some ate their food cooked, while others ate it raw. The scenes were brutal and bloody, too horrible to look at.
The ridiculous thing was that the players' first reaction to these scenes was excitement. Only afterward did they become terrified, because they soon realized they weren't the ones wielding the knives in this game. They were the ones tied to the hospital beds.
"It's fake... It's all fake..." One player refused to believe his eyes. He kept adjusting the power on his helmet, which was meant to prevent mental interference, trying to wake himself from the hallucination.
Some of the other players had bought helmets, and some hadn't. Those without them couldn't find suitable ones at such short notice, so all they could
