In the underground mall, Ying Hai had probably explained things to the others. Pain was suppressed beneath the smiles on everyone's faces. Ying Yu was using a Projector to show three children videos filmed in other sub-districts. The children had seen them before and knew they couldn't touch anything on the screen, so they only huddled beside the adults, constantly asking what the things in the videos were or whether they could eat them.

Adults on the street crowded around the children, lifting them up to catch the balloons drifting overhead. It was as if everyone was heading to a festival. After leaving the mascots behind, the children were swept along by the crowd and climbed aboard a passing cartoon float. Accompanied by performers and visitors, it rolled slowly toward the city center, where enormous inflatable figures stood. Flying vehicles festooned with firecrackers occasionally swooped out, scattering streamers and countless pieces of candy and food!
