The reason was simple: the Safe Zone had grown much stronger. They no longer wanted to remain evenly matched with the small town. Instead, they planned to turn it into a granary, leaving some players behind to help them raise people.
The captured Tian Min and Lin Na were still alive, though they had been tortured.
Nobody asked for details. In District 010, even male players could be violated if they were captured, let alone female players. In the eyes of those living in District 010 now, there was little difference between the sexes or between species.
The White-Haired Player immediately contacted the buzz-cut man who had left with the others, then collected the bodies. There was no way to trade them for hostages; the Safe Zone wouldn't give up Tian Min and Lin Na just for them.
"To prevent another sneak attack by the Safe Zone, nobody sleeps tonight. We'll take turns keeping watch." After making the arrangements, the White-Haired Player found Xu Huo another place to stay.
Xu Huo, however, didn't plan to stay in the small town. He intended to head to the Safe Zone that very night.
The White-Haired Player immediately gave him a detailed map. "The Safe Zone is much bigger than our town. There's another small town ahead that serves as cover, and the Safe Zone's real headquarters are farther inside."
According to the map, the two towns weren't far apart. It would take no more than half an hour by ordinary transport.
The Safe Zone had probably already received the news. Xu Huo just didn't know how their negotiations with the small-town players had gone. If they'd fought, the outcome was probably already settled.
Taking shorty with him, Xu Huo set off for the Safe Zone.
On the way, he asked more about
