"I don't understand. This child looks perfectly normal. Why did Dr. Joyce put her in a hibernation pod?" Juan Er glanced at the contamination outside the pod. "She hasn't been hurt, either."

Brother Wu scanned the membrane wrapped around the little girl and said in surprise, "This is actually a piece of equipment. It's basically a protective suit that lets someone breathe."

"She's been buried under the desert for two years. No matter how advanced the protective suit is, it won't help," Juan Er said. "The poor kid must have suffocated."

Xu Huo used Space Ray to gently lift the child's head. But just as she sat up, the membrane around her suddenly broke. A faint tremor ran through her, and her heartbeat returned.

"What kind of black technology is this?" Darkness Under the Lamp exclaimed.

From where Xu Huo stood, he could see a triangular, pointed bone growing from the back of the child's neck. The raised bones were linked together along her spine, one after another. At a glance, they looked like bones sticking out because she was too thin, but in fact, her skeletal structure was different from a human's.

"This might not be black technology," Brother Wu said, having noticed the bones at the back of the child's neck, too. "Didn't we see Aliens sleeping beneath the sand in the desert before? And there were those Aliens that looked like dried corpses. Even up close, we couldn't hear their heartbeats or breathing."

"So is this child the offspring of a degenerate and a human, or an Alien and a human?" Juan Er's attention had wandered off track.

"Living things have broadly similar genes. Maybe Dr. Joyce fused the genes of certain Aliens with human genes," Big Back Head said.

"That's not very likely," Xiao Hui said.
