"If what you saw really was the future, then that future must be set in stone," Bai Kou said.
Xu Huo silently watched her. After a moment, he asked, "If there's no way to change the future, then what was the point of my coming to the Platinum Eye?"
Bai Kou smiled. "Isn't that just how people are? They believe in fate, yet they don't."
Xu Huo smiled too. "How would we know without trying?"
Bai Kou gently raised her hand, and a chair appeared beside the table. "Sit down and let's talk."
Xu Huo sat down again and placed Angel's Eyes on the table.
This time, with the Origin Stone right in front of her, Bai Kou tentatively rested her hand on the Stone. "It's definitely Time Origin."
"How far have you gotten with your Evolution?"
Xu Huo glanced at the fruit on the table. "Want to see?"
Bai Kou stared at him for a moment, then picked up a piece of fruit and tossed it into the air.
Xu Huo used the power of Angel's Eyes to nudge the Time Rays around him. The image of the fruit flying up and then falling was recorded and replayed repeatedly under the item's effect.
He hadn't noticed it when he came out of that endlessly repeating mansion, but now, as he nudged the Time Rays again, he faintly sensed the Time Rays within the fruit. Unlike Space Rays, though, the Time Power inside an object was more like a tangled mass, impossible to make sense of.
After feeling it for a moment, he withdrew his hand and looked back at Bai Kou.
"You're good at applying what you've learned," Bai Kou said, glancing at the repeating image before meeting his gaze. "But you're still a long way from doing it
