Too Efficient

Yuquan City's players were highly efficient.

This kind of efficiency was something you rarely saw in ordinary players.

For example, ordinary players were basically used to fighting alone. They might own many items, but they usually relied on just a few familiar ones. Items had activation commands, cooldowns, or restrictions under certain conditions. And retrieving and equipping them was a skill in itself. Most items had to be held in a player's hand to be used, so players wouldn't hang a whole bunch of them on themselves at once. It wouldn't help, and it might even cause confusion when they tried to use them.

So even players accustomed to combat could still be delayed, make mistakes, or lose control when switching between items, despite years of practice and a thorough understanding of themselves and their gear. Sometimes, "outclicking" your opponent wasn't just about speed; it also tested your reaction time and your ability to use your items' effects flexibly—and that often depended on what items and Abilities your opponent had.

Even fighting alone could bring all sorts of unexpected situations, let alone coordinating with other players.

First, people had to develop an understanding with one another, and they had to do it while fighting for their lives. That alone took a long time, never mind all the possible combinations.

Second, no player could possibly know everything about everyone else's items. Even players in the same organization wouldn't normally tell others every last detail about how they used their gear, especially not when there were so many people involved.

So when players were packed together, some Abilities and items affected everyone indiscriminately, friend or foe. That meant that in group battles, players had to spread out as much as possible to avoid hitting their teammates or giving the enemy an opening.
