Xu Huo and another therapist named Zhang Xian had been taken hostage. The player who had seized them used some unknown item, carrying one person in each hand as he flashed past the base's players. For a moment, no one could keep up with him.

In just a few seconds, they reached an exit the base had deliberately left open and successfully broke through. In the blink of an eye, they were far from the medical base.

The player took a winding route before bringing Xu Huo and the other therapist to a zoo.

A sign on the zoo's gate said it was temporarily closed to visitors. There weren't many people around in broad daylight. Though the surveillance cameras caught the three of them entering, no alarms went off.

The three headed straight to the zoo's control room, a spacious area ringed with hundreds of projection screens. But the people inside were clearly not zoo staff. They were more than a dozen fully armed players, surrounding a group of uniformed psychotherapists—twelve in all.

The East District players were really something. So many psychotherapists had been snatched away in one go.

"Here they are." A tattooed big man nodded toward the player who had captured Xu Huo and Zhang Xian.

"Move!"

Xu Huo and Zhang Xian were shoved into the middle and forced to squat with their hands over their heads, just like the other psychotherapists.

The tattooed big man exchanged a glance with the masked player in a hoodie beside him, then stood and walked to the front of the group. In a booming voice, he said, "You're ordinary people. The Rebel Army doesn't kill ordinary people indiscriminately. We brought you here for one reason: to find out who's operating on the players."
