"Isn't it strange?" the red-scarf female player continued. "Even I feel like their deaths made no sense. They were not only willing to die, they even overcame their instinct to survive. They didn't fight back or struggle at all."
"That's not necessarily true." The female player crouching beside the bodies pointed at their fingers. "Look, they're soaked. That means the Alien's body was probably made of water. Even if they struggled, it'd be hard to leave any wounds behind."
The red-scarf female player pointed back at the scratches outside the window.
"I never said there was only one kind of Alien." The female player stood up and dusted off her legs. "What's stranger is that no one else in your carriage saw them die."
"Two people did, didn't they? It's a shame they ran off." The red-scarf female player said coolly, "You're not just looking for trouble, are you?"
"Of course not." The female player glanced at Xu Huo before continuing. "I just think that Alien was too strange. Could it have involved some kind of special power, like mental interference?"
That might be connected to the Alien's special Evolution, which was often related to the game. Those boxes brought aboard had been deliberately opened at night, so they were probably meant for some kind of experiment they didn't want anyone to know about.
By then, the Players who had gone to look for people at the front and rear of the train had returned. As expected, their search had turned up nothing. They didn't know whether the two who had fled were dead or had changed their appearances, but there was no trace of them. The Players who had inspected the locomotive reported that the train had been forced to stop because part of the underside of the locomotive
