After the high-ponytailed player died, Zuo Yu didn't dare put the doll in the Storage Compartment. He could only keep it with him in an item case. He also didn't dare stay with the other Players, so he went back to his room alone and shut the door tight.
There was no helping it. Items often had unexpected effects, and as long as the doll remained in plain sight, some item could suddenly appear out of nowhere and destroy it. The best option was to stay in his room and create a safe environment for himself, at least for the time being.
That didn't mean the other Players would simply give up, though. Only three dolls could be selected in seven days. How could they let someone else claim a spot?
So Zuo Yu hadn't been in his room for even half an hour before the items he'd set up inside were all destroyed. Three Players worked together to force him out. There was plenty of stuff in the room, but the Castle's corridors and gardens were spacious.
Though it was three against one, the Players were afraid of accidentally damaging the Castle and angering the doll maker, so they held back during the fight. That gave Zuo Yu a chance to catch his breath. He retreated from his room to the garden, then made his way back into the Castle. He'd intended to enter the Exhibition Room, but the three Players realized what he was planning and blocked the way in advance, forcing him to stay away from it.
With no other choice, Zuo Yu ran toward the dining hall. By then, he was already badly injured. Once he reached the dining hall, he simply tossed the doll to the painted woman. "It's yours!"
