The other players were surprised by the stranded player's physical strength, but soon they had no time to worry about how strong anyone else was. As the player with the Ticket fell from the Goddess statue's feet, he tore away the cloth covering it!
The wide red silk slid down, and the Goddess statue's true form abruptly came into view. The eyes embedded all over her body opened almost simultaneously. Their shifting pupils searched for targets nearby, then instantly locked onto everyone inside and outside the temple—including the player with the Ticket, who had his back to the statue.
The player with the Ticket and the two stranded players at the temple entrance froze under the eyes' gaze. A moment later, blood ran from their noses and mouths, and they died. Several players farther away outside the temple fared no better. They couldn't even wrench their eyes away from the Goddess statue. They stared fixedly at it until blood streamed from their eyes and their pupils began to twitch unnaturally. Then they sprayed out mouthfuls of blood before their bodies went limp and they collapsed to their knees in front of the temple, at the Goddess statue's feet.
There were quite a few players scattered around. One temple player endured the pain and used his powers from a distance to cover the statue with the red cloth again, then called to his companions to retreat farther away. Gradually, the wildly shifting pupils settled down and fell asleep again in a very short time.
The mental pressure inside and outside the temple vanished.
"Are you idiots?" a temple player raged. "If the cloth over the Goddess statue could be removed, why would we cover it up in the first place? If you want to get yourselves killed, don't drag everyone else
