"Ta-da!" Zhu Xiaojin opened the door with a flourish, stepping aside and striking a presenting pose. The tattooed woman and the bartender then saw their companions inside, frozen in half-standing positions, their eyes vacant and expressions stiff, like a movie paused mid-scene!
Space-time artifacts had a mutually incompatible property. This meant that space-time artifacts tended to interfere with one another while in use, causing them to fail or greatly diminishing their effects. A Super Artifact like Three Seconds of Life, however, could interfere with other space-time artifacts and instruments even just by existing in the same space.
Likewise, to escape the effects of Time Power, all you had to do was carry a similar space-time artifact. This was especially true of Still Time, which gave Players plenty of time to react. But the outcome still depended on the relative strength of the two interfering forces. For instance, under the influence of the "Time Tower," even Players like Dou Shengnan, equipped with enough high-level artifacts, had a hard time breaking free. The Players in the private room had Space Artifacts too, but unfortunately, their artifacts were at a disadvantage when the space-time forces clashed.
In actual use, Xu Huo had also noticed the difference between an Evolver directly controlling Time Power and using a Time Artifact. From his current perspective, Time Artifacts, even Super Artifacts, used Time Power in a much subtler way. Not only was the duration limited, but it seemed that, in the name of achieving balance, the Time Power was spread thinly over each area. It was nowhere near as straightforward and forceful as directly controlling it.
Of course, each method had its advantages and disadvantages.
