That Man
"What are you asking him for?" The painted woman stepped in front of him. "I'm the one who helped you!"
The woman laughed. "Well, then. I could offer myself to you. Would you like that?"
"No, thanks. I'd rather have you work like a horse," the painted woman insisted. "If you really don't want to do that, then just give me cash."
The woman stared at her. "They say you shouldn't expect anything in return for helping someone. You're being awfully practical."
"Weren't you the one who offered?" The painted woman held out her hand, every inch of her radiating the words: "Pay up."
The woman couldn't very well go back on her word, so she gave the painted woman all the money she had on her. "This card has all my savings."
"All of it," she stressed. "I haven't kept a single cent in my game panel. Apart from the items I use regularly, I got rid of everything else I didn't need and exchanged it for money. It's all here."
The painted woman took the card with sparkling eyes. But after checking the balance, the smile vanished from her face. She stared at the woman with an expression that said, "You're that poor?" Her shock seemed tinged with a hint of pity.
A vein throbbed on the woman's forehead. "Believe it or not, that really is all the money I have."
The painted woman tried to return the card, but the woman hurriedly waved her off. "It's only right..."
They went back and forth twice before Xu Huo translated for her. "She still wants you to work like a horse."
The woman gritted her teeth. "If you insist on forcing me, then I'll have no choice but to enter the game."
The painted woman didn't care.
