Players weren't absolutely unable to leave Dungeons. Aside from high-risk methods like becoming a Wanted Criminal, they could stop entering Dungeons by suspending their Player status or becoming a Gray Player. But if they suspended their Player status, they could no longer use their Personal Panel or items. Lan Huai Xie could still use items, which meant he was a Gray Player.
Becoming a Gray Player wasn't easy. Xu Huo had learned how strict the requirements were when he'd done odd jobs for the Game Government Base in District 011. But a District Government could trade with the Game Government Base to obtain a quota. This was reflected among the Nobles in District 011, too. Lan Huai Xie came from a good family, so he might well have been able to get Gray Player status. However, given the current state of District 001, even getting a Gray Player quota probably wouldn't be easy.
Using a Ticket again meant returning to the game.
Clearly, even if Lan Huai Xie wanted to risk it, he still didn't want to use a Ticket.
"Stop." Xu Huo patted his shoulder, gesturing for him to look around.
Blackness had covered most of the room. Lan Huai Xie had called it a spatial collapse, but the room's spatial structure hadn't been damaged. The room was still intact.
"Is this really a spatial collapse?" Xu Huo asked skeptically.
Lan Huai Xie hesitated. "I've never experienced a spatial collapse myself. From what my family described, some spatial collapses look like this... They seem gentle, but in reality..."
Before he could finish, he saw the blackness around them slowly recede, leaving not
