The night passed peacefully. No one called out to them in the middle of the night, as the old woman had warned.
Early the next morning, Xu Huo and the others finished breakfast and were about to leave. But the path out was suddenly shrouded in dense fog. They couldn't see a thing more than two or three meters away. Walking into it would be like stumbling around blind.
"Why don't you stay here for a few days?" the old woman suggested. "Wait for the fog to thin before you leave."
Xu Huo looked troubled. "How long will it last?"
"If we're lucky, two or three days. If not, it could hang around for half a month." The old woman looked worried too. "It's hard to hunt when the fog gets thick, and finding wild vegetables isn't easy either. Luckily, we still have some supplies at home."
