When Xu Huo left Grandma Yi's place, he happened to run into the Players returning with the villagers. They had probably come to find out what was going on with the little girl, and hadn't expected to run into him. They were wary of him, but even more curious about the little girl.

Watching the Players head into Grandma Yi's courtyard, the two were curious about what the little girl had gone through. But each of them had a grudge against some of the Players, so they couldn't approach them just then. They planned to wait until the others left, and asked Xu Huo instead.
"She just missed her friend." Xu Huo replied indifferently, "If you want to ask anything, ask her yourselves later."
As he spoke, he prepared to take the painted woman to visit Tuo Tuo's parents.
Tuo Tuo's parents looked older than their actual age. They still didn't know why Grandma Yi's granddaughter had suddenly run off; they had only stayed away because they were afraid to approach with so many Players around.
