Too Smooth
"Can you speak for the Mi family?" The buzz-cut man sneered. "I want to see someone from the Mi family."
"I can." The oldest of the three Players smiled and handed him a business card. "I'm from the Mi family. You can tell me whatever you need to."
The buzz-cut man couldn't help glancing at Xu Huo beside him. They had agreed to threaten the Mi family with what had happened to the Wan family, but in truth, he'd already made up his mind before they came. Rather than rely on a dubious piece of information, they might as well take two members of the Mi family hostage. He hadn't expected the Mi family's politically connected members to stay out of sight. Players were much harder to capture than ordinary people.
"We know you were involved in the Wan family massacre." Xu Huo got straight to the point. "Our friends are waiting outside the Mi family estate. If we don't come out by the agreed time, everyone will know what happened."
The three members of the Mi family showed no change in expression. They simply asked, "What do you want?"
"Not much. A few items will do," Xu Huo said. "Your infighting in District 001 has made it impossible for us to clear the level smoothly. A little compensation isn't unreasonable, is it?"
The oldest Player nodded. "It isn't unreasonable."
He then took a box out of his Storage Compartment and opened it. Inside were two items and five devices. "They're all A-level quality. That should be enough for you to split between yourselves."
The Mi family's willingness to cooperate so readily took Xu Huo and the others by surprise. It was almost too smooth.
