"You people from District 001 are all pretty good at doing business," Xu Huo remarked flatly.
The middle-aged man didn't respond. Instead, he pressed on. "Are you in or not?"
Xu Huo raised an eyebrow. "Want me to sign a contract with you?"
The middle-aged man had obviously heard the sarcasm. He pulled out a map. "The places marked here are relatively safe places to stop."
"A route into the city center." Xu Huo studied the buildings on the map. Some were fairly tall, but most were low-rise, especially in the commercial district deeper inside the city. There were tall buildings there too, but the ones marked on the map were all relatively short.
"Where's the destination?" he asked.
"There isn't one," the middle-aged man said calmly. "You said it yourself: the gentleman left this place to cultivate future Players. What's the point of going straight after the little boss for its loot? We need to reach the city center first."
Xu Huo laughed. "And you still dare to claim there's a Super Artifact in there?"
The middle-aged man held his tongue for a moment before saying, "What difference does it make if you don't believe me?"
