A trip into the Restricted Zone?
The enforcement team's Player thought he'd misheard. What did this man think the Restricted Zone was—a place he could enter whenever he wanted?
"Can I?" The man before him didn't seem to care what anyone else thought. He simply repeated the question.
The enforcement team Player wasn't sure whether this man was recklessly ignorant or genuinely confident in his abilities. As he pressed the emergency button on his device, he stalled for time. "Please wait a moment. Our captain will be here shortly. You can discuss this with him."
Xu Huo nodded. He could already sense more than a dozen Players hurrying toward him from different directions. The Players before him, along with several others scattered nearby, also seemed ready to stop him.
"Never mind. I'll run into your people inside." He spoke calmly, then passed through the blockade and vanished.
The nearby devices sounded an alarm. On the monitors, the Players saw someone appear on the Ninth Floor, where their colleagues were stranded inside the building.
The people outside immediately sent a warning to those inside, but it was already too late. Xu Huo had pinned them in place. Calmly, he asked, "I want to enter the Restricted Zone to find a friend. Can your people get in?"
This search team, sent in as a vanguard, wasn't particularly strong. They had mainly been dispatched to scout the area, and scouting meant they were prepared to make sacrifices. There were always gains and losses. Experienced A-class Players were valuable resources in any Sub-district; even if they were needed to clear a Dungeon, they couldn't all be sent in at once as the vanguard.
A more reasonable arrangement was to send High-level Players of different ranks to investigate separately.
