A dozen or twenty at first, then, just minutes later, they swarmed around Xu Huo and the painted woman like a mass of jellyfish. The Ghost Face Headsets seemed impossible to kill. Cut one down, and even more immediately appeared, as though they would never run out.
Xu Huo and the painted woman hadn't gone far after leaving the theater. They were still on a street a few hundred meters away. Once he confirmed there was no one nearby, Xu Huo stopped wasting time. He signaled the painted woman to retreat, then used "Explosion Demon" to make two space bombs.
Amid a deafening blast, countless headset fragments and chunks of debris swept Xu Huo and the painted woman away. The blast carried them nearly a kilometer before they landed on top of a building. Looking back at the place they'd blown up, the jellyfish-like swarm of headsets was gone, but the nearby buildings hadn't been leveled as Xu Huo had expected. The explosion had only destroyed half a street, leaving behind a massive crater and several buildings shorn of most of their upper floors.
"Explosion Demon" was far more powerful than that. It seemed the dungeon had suppressed it, preventing it from unleashing its full effect.
Still, it wasn't surprising. If bringing a bomb into a dungeon could level the whole place, it wouldn't qualify as an A-class instance.
"More headsets are flying this way," the painted woman warned.
Xu Huo nodded. "Let's check somewhere else first."
They were inevitably attacked by Ghost Face Headsets along the way, but the giant headsets they'd encountered earlier never reappeared. This time, the two didn't kill them on sight. They chose to evade instead. The headsets continued pursuing them, but their numbers didn't surge.
Maintaining this approach, Xu Huo and the painted woman
