Xu Huo's Luck
The violent impact left Xu Huo teetering on the edge of unconsciousness. Through his wavering vision, he saw the wisp of spatial power confined inside the water Rubik's Cube, drifting back and forth. Its movements seemed incredibly slow, yet the surface of the Cube churned violently in response. At the same time, the water Rubik's Cube still hadn't fully detached from his body. The extreme tug-of-war between these two forces of space repeatedly battered his body and consciousness. After just two seconds, darkness swallowed him.
Even after he passed out, his childhood personality didn't disappear. Though it had a nearly tangible body, it still wasn't strong enough to withstand a clash with spatial power of the water Rubik's Cube's caliber. So it shoved the painted woman forward.
The painted woman grew anxious when she saw Xu Huo unconscious, blood still spilling from the corner of his mouth. But she had no concept of doing something "properly." She swung the Communicator at the water Rubik's Cube. With a sharp crack, the Cube remained intact, while the Communicator was completely wrecked. Tossing aside what was left of it, she grabbed the water Rubik's Cube with both hands and tried to pull it free. But the Cube was attached to Xu Huo, so even when she yanked as hard as she could, she only managed to shift him a little.
After thinking for a second, she braced both feet against Xu Huo's chest and stomach, then hugged the water Rubik's Cube and pulled. That seemed to help a little: the part of the Cube trailing from Xu Huo's body stretched slightly. But he spat out more blood, and one end of the wisp that had been trapped inside the Cube slipped out through a corner and flowed back into Xu
