The people in the manor couldn't very well check their guests' identities on the spot. The butler had already vanished, and Xu Huo certainly wasn't going to prove who he was. He simply smiled faintly and said, "When someone needs to divert the attention others are directing at them, they'll selectively attack someone else, drawing more attention to that person and easing the pressure on themselves."
"Who are you talking about?" The photographer shot to his feet and pointed at him. "I'm a guest invited by Mr. Wen. Where did you come from?"
Xu Huo raised a hand. "I'm a friend of Mr. Harry's."
The photographer seemed ill-tempered, and he also seemed to be looking for trouble. After Xu Huo answered him with just a couple of sentences, the man actually tried to come over and hit him.
The foodie and botanist beside him were quick to grab hold of him. As they tried to calm him down, they explained to Xu Huo, "He's in a bad mood and a little short-tempered. He's not picking on you in particular."
By then, the photographer had already calmed down. He shook off the people holding him, straightened his clothes, and said to the butler, who had hurried over, "Bring dinner to my room."
Once he'd left, the scholar explained the photographer's situation. "He was the first person to arrive here. He was supposed to take some vintage-style photos of Mr. Wen, but Mr. Wen has been ill and in poor condition, so the shoot has been delayed again and again. The photographer signed a contract when he arrived, and he can't leave until the shoot is finished. That's held up his other work, which is why he's in such a bad mood."
"He'll definitely be paid for the delay," Harry said nonchalantly.
