"The wounds on my body are nothing like those of any Alien I've seen before." The burly man showed them his injuries. "And that Alien was unbelievably fast. I couldn't even get a clear look at it. It just appeared out of nowhere!"
That matched what the curly-haired woman had said.
This wasn't some special mental Dungeon, where multiple people in different places and at different times could all see the same hallucination.
Space Teleport Artifacts couldn't be used here. Both the curly-haired woman and the burly man had tried speeding up to escape their predicament, but the elusive Alien had forced them to give up—as if it existed specifically to interfere with them.
"This has to be a smart Alien," the burly man insisted. "It launches surprise attacks and moves fast, but it won't fight us head-on. It probably knows it isn't strong enough."
Xu Huo looked at the curly-haired woman. That wasn't what she'd said.
"A lot of my Artifacts don't work on the smart Alien," the curly-haired woman explained to the burly man. "But quite a few of my Defense Artifacts have been destroyed. It just hasn't gotten close to us... Could it be that the Alien isn't holding back because it's weak, but because it's deliberately toying with us?"
"Also, we haven't run into it at all since earlier. Maybe there are other Players underground, and it went after them."
"There might be more than one smart Alien," the burly man said. "Punishment City wouldn't go to all this trouble just to mess with us. They must have something else up their sleeve!"
"Let's go find where they're actually keeping the Aliens," Xu Huo said, surveying the large vats. "It's clearly not here."
"What good would finding that place do?" the burly man said. "We should
