Old Qi watched Xu Huo. His expression was as kindly as before, but the aura he gave off was entirely different. The imposing presence of a strong player put immense pressure on those around him. For an instant, it was as if even the wind had stopped.
Xu Huo met his gaze calmly. He wasn't intimidated, worried, or on guard in response to the deliberate show of force.
But the more composed he was, the more Old Qi felt he had something to rely on. If he couldn't kill Xu Huo in one strike, he would be left with endless trouble down the road.
After a moment, he said, "Quite a few members of the Holy Sword Society have done bad things. We have people inside the Society who keep an eye on them, but our members are scattered, so it's difficult to deal with them effectively and in time."
"Do you remember what those Holy Sword Society members looked like?"
That was Old Qi conceding. If Xu Huo named the Holy Sword Society members who had offended him, the Society would hand them over for him to deal with.
In truth, the Holy Sword Society's leaders and elders knew what their people were doing behind their backs. But anyone who became a true core member of the Society had passed a rigorous selection process. By that point, they also tended to stay in one or a few fixed locations, so the odds of them having crossed paths with Xu Huo were low.
Many members of the Holy Sword Society took little effort to maintain, so there was little reluctance to abandon them.
"If I run into them, I'll deal with them myself. Sorry for the trouble, old gentleman," Xu Huo said. "We've been talking for a while.
