Take Precautions First
No one answered the question right away. After a moment, a man with a spiky crew cut said, "Are you saying you want to leave?"
In District 031, they were practically at the top of the pyramid. Leaving might give them some freedom, but without a way to teleport, they would still be stuck in whichever sub-district they chose. And if they went somewhere else, they wouldn't just lose their place at the top—they might end up at someone else's mercy. What was so bad about the life they had now?
"Did we become Players and risk our lives because everyone was bored?" the spiky-haired man said. "We did it to rise above the rest and become somebody. What's the point of all that effort to become A-class players if people can just walk all over us?"
"You say that as if people aren't walking all over you already," Hen Yu sneered.
"Don't take your bitterness out on everyone just because your man's dead," the spiky-haired man said without mercy. "And let me make this clear: I'm definitely not avenging your dead husband."
Ignoring Hen Yu's hateful glare, he continued, "I don't want to leave, for one. Those who want to go can go, but I suggest the people in charge stay. First, things might not be better in another sub-district. Second, the Twelve Main Cities need to maintain a balance."
"Don't tell anyone outside the core members that they can leave District 031, either. Plenty of people in the Twelve Main Cities want to keep to themselves and stay out of city affairs. Naturally, they're excluded from this, too."
"Unfortunately, they're not stupid," Mr. Hu said. "Sooner or later, word will get out."
"We can keep our own people in line, but we can't control everyone.
