At Xu Huo's speed, it was impossible for him not to catch up with Wang Chengren. In fact, he did catch up with him, but the moment he reached out, he realized that the "Wang Chengren" in front of him wasn't real. On brief contact, his hand passed straight through the other man's shoulder.

"What happened?" Wang Chengren asked, jogging over behind the painted woman. He hadn't seen the other version of himself.
Xu Huo turned around and asked expressionlessly, "Do you have a twin brother?"
Wang Chengren looked a little confused. "No. What does that have to do with anything?"
"Does Wang Xiaohui have a twin sister?" Xu Huo asked.
"No, she's an only child..." Wang Chengren had enough sense to catch on right away. "You mean the one chasing me wasn't really Xiaohui... What was it, then?"
The more Wang Chengren thought about it, the more frightened he became. He was even more scared than he'd been when he found out Wang Xiaohui was after him.
"They both want you dead. What difference does it make?" Xu Huo said coolly.
"It's not the same! If a person kills you, at least it's over. But if it's a ghost, you might die of fright before it even gets you!" Wang Chengren said.
"What ghost?" The painted woman perked up. "Are there ghosts here?"
"Didn't you look into the Wang Family Manor before you came? Lots of people died in this house in the past. It's a cursed place. If I weren't after the Wang family's property, I'd never live here." Wang Chengren
