The others in the room watched the mirror, tense and wary. They couldn't see anything wrong with it, which only made them more worried that something beyond their control might happen.
Everyone gripped their items and waited. After a while, though, all they heard from the mirror was the same knocking sound, like an echo of the earlier knocks—or someone imitating them...
The thought had barely crossed their minds when, without warning, they saw a door open deep inside the mirror!
One Player instinctively looked behind them. Given their positions, there should have been a door opening behind them too, but no such door existed. Even the room reflected in the mirror had changed. The room inside the mirror was darker, and more and more areas were growing blurry and dim, as if they had been painted black.
The door that had suddenly opened was also far inside the mirror. As it opened, they could just make out a tiny shadow stepping through. At first it was only the length of a finger, but it quickly grew to the length of a hand, then a forearm—it was walking toward them from far away.
"What is that?" Cui Tan immediately asked Sen Sen.
Sen Sen frowned too. "I don't know."
"You don't know? It's your family's mirror!" Li De raised his voice in exasperation. "Is this one of Mr. Carmen's relics, or a trap set by the Fielder Family?"
Sen Sen gave him a cold look. "Don't say things that invite misunderstanding. The Fielder Family is sincerely welcoming you all. There's no reason for us to be accused out of nowhere."
"Besides, I told you before we came in: everything here is one of my grandfather's relics. Other than him, no one could possibly understand exactly what these items are for!"
