That sounded a little provocative, but everyone in the carriage merely glanced at them and looked away without saying another word.
The two players who had just boarded looked to be under thirty. Becoming B-class players at such a young age, they were naturally at the height of their confidence and a little uninhibited.
And, of course, talkative.
After boarding, they first complained about and critiqued the terrible travel conditions, then grumbled that the scenery around the tracks looked the same all year round and was less interesting than watching moving Aliens. Next, they gave the Conductor a bad review for not tidying up the train in time, and finally complained that the Game Government was stingy and unwilling to build sturdier trains.
"Why do you two talk so much?" A player in the same carriage finally could not take it anymore. Lowering his voice, he offered both a reminder and a warning as he glanced toward the front. "I'd advise you to stop talking nonsense, or you won't even know how you died."
The two young men were not stupid. They could naturally tell by now that something was off about the people on the train. After looking ahead, they withdrew their gazes, found a sheltered spot to sit, and apologized. "Sorry. My brother and I have been talkative since we were kids. Once we get started, we can't stop. Please don't mind us."
The other players could not be bothered with them. Still, despite all their nonsense, no one up ahead had turned around to deal with them. It seemed that person was not the sort to act entirely on a whim and without reason.
That relaxed everyone somewhat. What they feared most was running into a madman.
After that, the atmosphere on the train eased.
