Most aliens did indeed become active at night, but these mutant rats clearly did not. Although they were too large to squeeze through gaps in the doors and windows, they had no trouble clogging the pipes.

The damage had not originally compromised the building, but with these mutant rats constantly gnawing at it, collapse was only a matter of time.

There was no food in the city, and the aliens hunted one another, but now they had chosen to cooperate.
