The lake district, which had long since been sealed off, was now under even tighter lockdown. Even the mountain areas near the lake and the residents of the two closest cities had been evacuated.
Before the Evolution, fog occasionally rose over the lake. After the Evolution, it appeared more and more frequently. The state later detected unusual energy fluctuations here and sent teams down to investigate several times. However, as the underwater space changed and Mutant Animals in the water grew increasingly numerous, underwater inspections became extremely dangerous.
