"You're not a Player from District 009, are you?" Lu Zhen asked, looking at him with a hint of envy. "District 009 just merged with the game Sub-district. I heard the Dungeons are full of items and Potions, just lying around for anyone to pick up. Too bad my Player level is too low. I don't dare go into any of the fixed Dungeons that have already been made public."
"Just lying around?" Xu Huo smiled. "Do you see any items here?"
Lu Zhen let out a sigh. "I suppose not."
Their conversation paused, and footsteps sounded in the corridor outside. The first temporary host had emerged.
Lu Zhen immediately stood up nervously and hurried to the door, pressing her ear against it to listen closely. "They're coming from the left..."
She had barely finished speaking when she jerked backward, retreating to the side of the door as she conjured an axe and raised it high.
But the person outside paused at the door for only a moment before moving on.
Lu Zhen relaxed. When she heard the footsteps recede, she pressed her ear to the door again and listened for a long while. When nothing else happened, she turned to Xu Huo and silently mouthed, "What's going on?"
"Maybe they changed their mind and decided killing someone wasn't worth it, so they went back," Xu Huo said.
