Dialogue " What do you think?" Xu Huo threw the question back at her.

"Half and half, I guess." Jiang Jiang lowered her head. "I can tell you're a kind person, but some people enjoy the thrills and excitement of the game. Whatever their nature, people keep rushing in with all kinds of goals. What about you? Would you sacrifice yourself for your family and friends?"

"Depends on the situation." Xu Huo braced both hands on the windowsill and gazed at the Wormhole Flowers swaying outside. "People are complicated. Their moods and thoughts change all the time. You can't make promises about how you'll act in extreme circumstances when things are peaceful. And how someone acts in danger can't represent the whole person, either."

"That's a little philosophical." Jiang Jiang smiled shyly. "You're a thoughtful person."

Xu Huo didn't challenge her assessment of him or offer one of his own. Instead, he said, "There are trains for ordinary people. You could visit other Sub-districts. Maybe you'd meet someone who's truly kind."

Jiang Jiang shook her head firmly. "Even a place as safe as the hotel can have accidents, let alone other Sub-districts. Besides, they're not by my side every day."
