The giant python was even more imposing than it had seemed, and when it suddenly raised its head, it towered over Xu Huo. He dodged to the side, drew the Bright Red Sword, and brought it down in one swift stroke, slicing the python in half.

A spray of blood splattered across the surrounding plants. Their seemingly harmless leaves and branches suddenly trembled, rapidly soaking up the blood. Stimulated by it, they unfurled and groped around until they wrapped around the snake's corpse and dragged it deep into the undergrowth.

As the plants opened and closed, something that looked a little like a cave flashed into view. That was probably the carnivorous plant's main body. This whole area was its hunting ground.

The carnivorous plant wasn't very fast, so even though it had encountered Xu Huo, it couldn't wrap him up. It had, however, left quite a few pinhead-sized fuzzy specks on his Protective Suit.

With Oxygen Supply equipped, Xu Huo couldn't smell the plants. He took out a simple device he'd bought in District 011 and tested the fuzzy particles released by the plants. They contained a mild toxin.

These plants couldn't take down large animals. Their main prey was probably small animals.

He surveyed the area and found that, aside from the python, no other large animals had come near, drawn by the smell of blood.

Looking at the fuzzy particles floating in the air, he roughly guessed why. No matter how much animals evolved, they still needed to breathe, and inhaling those particles would be unpleasant. Under normal circumstances, animals wouldn't want to come near this place.

Dealing with large Mutant Animals wasn't actually difficult. They had keen senses of smell and hearing, and both could be exploited. Xu
