Wielding a Knife at a Moment's Notice: A Partner in Crime
Zhu Feiyun glanced at Xu Huo several times, seeming unable to believe that such an unremarkable person could be a high-level player.
"One way to earn bonus points in a C-class instance is to trigger a branch mission. Branch missions make it easier to get a high rating," Kuang Wenjun said. "So far, I haven't triggered one."
Xu Huo sat properly at the dining table and took a sip of water. He turned to look at Teacher Ai, who was repairing the car outside. "It's hard to say whether there's a branch mission."
"If there is one, I'd bet it has something to do with the living samples," Shangguan Xi said. "Does that Alien look like some hope for rescuing ordinary people from misery? W11 went to all that trouble to get a few samples, but didn't keep even one for itself. Instead, it's sending them to W37. They might have something else going on behind the scenes."
"The clearance mission only tells me to take the samples to W37. It doesn't say whether anyone will meet us or what will happen to the samples afterward."
"I think so too," Zhu Feiyun said. "If someone comes to collect the samples, we can follow them and have a look. We already have a guaranteed clear anyway."
Zhu Feiyun and Kuang Wenjun clearly weren't new to C-class instances. Though they'd guessed there might be a branch mission, they hadn't planned to tackle it alone. Instead, they'd told their companions outright. Sharing the credit also meant sharing the risk, and branch missions in C-class instances were bound to be complicated.
"What's going on in W37 Base City now?" Xu Huo asked Shangguan Xi, turning his gaze back from the window.
