The sharp sheet of paper stopped in front of his eye. Xu Huo raised a hand. "Pause."
The Paper Knife immediately lost its force and drifted to the ground. The painted woman reattached her finger, then ran over to him and gazed at him with wide, dewy eyes.

"That's enough for today. We'll talk about it tomorrow." As he spoke, Xu Huo glanced at the Medal on her chest. It had stayed firmly in place even when she turned into paper just now. "Does this thing give you an Ability boost?"
The painted woman shook her head, looking a little confused, then said, "I like it when I see it."
Seeing her bewildered expression, Xu Huo knew he wouldn't get anything out of her. He dusted himself off. "Let's go back."
