The Paper Puppeteer vanished among the fluttering sheets of paper.
Xu Huo remained where he was, and he had more or less figured out the Super Player's mindset.
He believed in the guidance of "fate" because he wanted to go with the flow and see where "fate" ultimately led. It was like how he had obtained part of "Field Battle Angel" and learned some information, but the Super Player himself didn't care much about the Super Artifact. What he wanted to investigate was why the Super Artifact had reappeared.
The other man hadn't revealed anything more, and Xu Huo had no way to guess at the rest. But one thing was clear: he wasn't in any immediate danger. If another Player who possessed part of a Super Artifact came looking for him, he could simply hand the matter over to the Paper Puppeteer.
However, he had had "Angel's Teeth" for a long time, and no one like the Paper Puppeteer had appeared during that time... Perhaps someone had appeared without his knowledge, but that only lent credence to the Paper Puppeteer's words.
There was no point staying in Clown City any longer. He opened his Personal Panel and took out the Return Ticket.
It had just grown dark in Ting City. The streetlights were still on, but the streets were already completely deserted. Xu Huo had just taken off his Mask and stepped out of the alley where he had teleported when he sensed two pairs of eyes fixed on him from the darkness.
"Ting City emergency announcement: Recently, lawbreakers have been sighted in the city. Residents are asked to avoid going out after dark!"
Temporary loudspeakers had been installed all over the streets. The same announcement played three times in a row. By the
