Not a Natural Disaster, Then a Man-Made One
His hand of course closed on empty air. He came back to reality from the hallucination, still standing in front of the solitary chair. Only the words "Sit Please" had disappeared from its armrest.
"So I've been hallucinating ever since I entered this basement."
Xu Huo searched the cramped room, but no real potion had appeared.
He was somewhat disappointed. When he'd entered the hallucination, he'd thought this might be a "clue" left behind by Dr. Wu. After all, that kind of design was completely at odds with Museum City. But the potion that had appeared on the chair was just an ordinary Evolution Potion. Even if it had been real, it wouldn't have been any use.
After going around in such a big circle, all he'd gotten was an ordinary Evolution Potion... It was hard not to feel a little frustrated.
Back upstairs, he had just emerged from under the desk when Long Aotian came in head-on. He was badly injured, with bandages wrapped around his head, chest, and abdomen. Even his nose was crooked.
When he suddenly saw Xu Huo, he was wary at first, then grinned. "Running into you here—what great luck!"
Despite saying that, he didn't move a single step forward. Instead, he kept an eye on the doorway.
"How'd you end up like this?" Xu Huo asked bluntly.
"I got beat up." Long Aotian instinctively touched his crooked nose. "Damn shame. I'd just gotten a new nose, and it cost me a lot of White Cash."
Xu Huo couldn't help giving him another look.
"It's only natural. Everyone wants to look good, and Players are at high risk of getting disfigured." Long Aotian sighed. "I'll have to spend more money fixing my face when I get back."
