Feeling the arm of the girl she was holding stiffen for a moment, Chen Ying crooked her lips.
As expected, mice were a potent weapon against most girls.
"So, classmate, hurry and come down."
"Let's go back together."

As she spoke, Chen Ying tried to pull the girl down from the rock.

Chen Ying was at a loss. The girl wouldn't cooperate, and she couldn't drag her down by force.
Now that she knew the girl was going to kill herself, she couldn't bring herself to simply walk away.
Her eyes shifted, and she suddenly put on a panicked expression. Pointing behind the girl, she said, "A-a mouse!"
"Quick, classmate, get up! The mouse is climbing up!"
Chen Ying felt the girl's body stiffen again.
A flicker of amusement flashed in her eyes, and she pressed on. "Oh no, the mouse is coming over!"
"Go away, go away!"
Chen Ying turned to look at the girl. "Classma—"
The next second, her voice abruptly cut off.
The girl turned to look at her.
Her pupils were black, but completely unfocused.
Even with moonlight falling into them, there wasn't a glimmer of light.
Chen Ying felt as though something had lodged in her throat.
Could this girl's eyes... not see?
Chen Ying swallowed carefully and slowly raised a hand. She hesitated, then waved it in front of the girl's eyes.
The girl remained as unresponsive as ever.
