The child was still young, and had limited stamina. After playing for a while, he began to get sleepy.
Shu Hu set the human child down on the carpet and watched as his eyes slowly closed. His little hands curled into fists beside his face, and he smacked his lips a couple of times. Within seconds, he had fallen into a deep sleep.
Shu Hu turned and walked toward the window.
It had never planned to stay.
Although it hadn't had much contact with humans, it knew a few things about them.
If it stayed, it would cause trouble for the human child.
And Shu Hu hated trouble.
Shu Hu pushed open the window and moved in a flash, landing on the air conditioner outside.
It took one last look at the human child sleeping soundly in the room, then turned and shut the window with its tail. With a light leap, it used the air conditioners as footholds and landed steadily on the ground.
Over the next two days, Shu Hu saw beautifully decorated Christmas trees in many places.
It loved the festive atmosphere of Christmas. It was different from the cold stillness of the mountains; there was something lovely about everyone celebrating the same holiday.
The air was filled with a sweet scent.
It didn't go far, staying near the human child's home the whole time.
Two days later, it jumped onto the air conditioner again, then curled up on the windowsill it had looked at countless times.
