"I should've asked Master Xiao to come sooner."
"Who knew that child..."
Wang Man trailed off, but the others understood what she meant.
"Hey, Wang Kai, pull over somewhere around here."
Wang Man glanced outside and called out urgently.
"Huh? Why?"
"Yan University is just a little farther ahead."
Wang Kai sounded confused, but still slowly turned the car toward the roadside.
"There's a really good breakfast place around here."
Wang Man looked at Xiao Xiao and smiled broadly. "Master Xiao, we dragged you out so early that you didn't even have time to eat breakfast."
"Why don't we eat first, then head back?"
"My treat."
"Let me show my gratitude, too."
"Master Xiao, you won't refuse, will you?"
Wang Man looked at Xiao Xiao hopefully, a little uncertain.
From their two encounters, Wang Man knew that Master Xiao seemed mild-mannered, but was actually rather aloof.
It was obvious from how he always took his leave as soon as the problem was resolved.
He never showed the slightest interest in chatting with them.
Maybe that was just how aloof a true expert was?
Wang Man mused.
"Sure."
The girl looked so worried he might turn her down that Xiao Xiao found it rather amusing.
He considered himself quite approachable. Unless he really had something to do, he wouldn't refuse a sincere invitation.
After breakfast, Xiao Xiao didn't continue riding back to the university with Wang Kai.
Yan University wasn't far from here.
He planned to walk back.
That would make up for missing his morning exercise today.
"All right, then."
Since Master Xiao had put it that way, Wang Man didn't insist. "Master Xiao, thank you so much for today."
"This meal doesn't count. I'll treat you to a feast next time."
