Peacock Blue Fei Fei shook its head in annoyance.
It wasn't a hallucination.
It really existed!
It was a monster, Fei Fei!
The Little Guy's agitated reaction made the man breathe a little easier.
For some reason, he believed the Little Guy.
He also believed that he was perfectly sane.
After all, drunk people never knew they were drunk. Perhaps people with mental problems didn't know they had them, either.
He shook his head and pressed his fingers to the bridge of his nose. He was going to die anyway. There was no point dwelling on things he couldn't figure out.
The man was starting to feel tired.
This was one of the few days lately when his emotions had fluctuated so much.
His body was in poor shape, and his mind was suffering for it.
He'd slept a lot during the day, yet somehow he was tired again.
The man smiled wryly.
Perhaps one day, once he fell asleep, he would never wake up again.
He lay down and reached over to switch off the bedside lamp.
The tightly drawn curtains left the room pitch-black.
It should have been pitch-black...
The man gazed at the Little Guy, who was glowing with a soft white light beside his pillow. His eyes filled with astonishment and admiration.
"Little Guy..."
"You aren't a fox, are you?"
What kind of ordinary fox could glow?
"Are you some kind of divine beast?"
Peacock Blue Fei Fei shot the man a look.
A divine beast? It was a monster!
The man didn't notice the Little Guy's indifference. The longer he stared, the more it seemed that his eyes were filled with countless sparkling lights.
With the Little Guy there, even an ordinary room felt a little dreamlike.
The
