But soon, the girl spoke again at a rapid pace. "All right, I was being presumptuous."

"How could I possibly help Master Xiao?"

"Master Xiao is so amazing..."

"You never know."

Xiao Xiao smiled and shook his head.

Before the girl could say anything, he reminded her, "Come on. If we dawdle any longer, the dorm doors really will close."

The girl immediately forgot what she'd been about to say. Her brows knitted slightly. "Master Xiao, you don't have to walk me back. It's late, so you should hurry back too."

"Otherwise, you'll be in trouble if the dorm doors close."

"Let's go."

Xiao Xiao didn't respond. He was already walking ahead.

"Wait, Master Xiao..."

The girl quickened her pace and caught up to Xiao Xiao.

"We're almost there."

Xiao Xiao's words finally made the girl close her open mouth.

He was right. The women's dorm was just ahead.

Rather than keep urging Master Xiao to go back, she'd be better off hurrying to the dorm so he could head back sooner.

"Master Xiao, thank you for walking me back."

The girl stood outside the women's dorm. The area was quiet, and hardly any students were coming and going anymore.

"You should hurry back."

The girl glanced at the clock on the wall inside and grew anxious. "There's barely any time left."

"It's fine. There's still time."

Xiao Xiao reassured her, then waved goodbye. "I'm off. See you."

"Goodbye, Master Xiao."

The girl watched Master Xiao's figure disappear into the dark night before turning and entering the dorm.

"Master Xiao."

The next morning, as Xiao Xiao and Zhang Bo walked out of the dorm, they heard a familiar voice.

Xiao Xiao looked up and saw Chi Xiuke walking toward him.

"Xiuxiu."

He wasn't particularly surprised to see her.
