The young man gently stroked Little Fire's head.
It was so warm.
Though saying that in the middle of summer seemed a little odd...
The young man smiled.
But that was how it felt every time he stroked Little Fire.
Whether in the dead of winter or the height of summer.
Xiao Xiao's lips curved into a smile.
Then he slowly recounted what Little Fire had just told him.
When Little Fire flew over this jade shop, the owner was holding a jade pendant up to the sunlight to inspect it.
The sunlight pooled on the pendant and reflected into Little Fire's eyes.
It grew curious about the pendant.
It looked at the pendant along with the owner, then followed him into the shop.
There were all kinds of jade pieces inside.
Some were accessories, while others were ornaments.
And there was a very large... human?
Little Fire stared at the figure's smooth, bald head and tilted its own head. Was that a human?
Why didn't it look like the humans it had seen before?
This human had no hair.
Little Fire circled the jade Buddha and studied it for a long time.
Then some customers came in, and it flew over to them.
It listened along with them as the owner introduced the jade pieces.
It was quite engrossed.
There weren't many customers in the shop, though, and the owner had already repeated some of his explanations several times.
Little Fire soon lost interest in the jade shop.
It left.
"Hm?"
The young man couldn't help letting out a surprised sound.
It left?
Then why was Little Fire here now?
Though puzzled, he didn't interrupt Xiao Xiao's story.
He knew the answer he wanted was coming.
Xiao Xiao smiled.
Little Fire had indeed left.
