Xiao Xiao walked to a secluded spot.
There was a pavilion there with peeling paint.
It had a quiet, desolate air.
Xiao Xiao stepped into the pavilion.
The little monster landed on the railing.
Xiao Xiao smiled.
This little monster was quite clever.
He set the bag of oranges down beside him.
"Wind-born, help yourself."
"Have as many as you want."
"Gugu~"
The little monster's eyes lit up.
Just before its claws touched an orange, it hesitated and glanced at Xiao Xiao.
Xiao Xiao smiled and nodded.
The little monster immediately hugged an orange to its chest.
The familiar, fresh scent made its eyes crinkle with delight.
It extended its claws.
A few flashes of cold light later, the peel fell away in sections, revealing the whole fruit inside.
Xiao Xiao's lips curved slightly.
These monsters all peeled oranges in exactly the same way.
The little monster opened its mouth wide.
Just as it was about to pop the orange into its mouth, it paused.
Looking at the peeled orange held out in front of him, Xiao Xiao raised an eyebrow, amusement in his voice. "For me?"
"Gugu~"
The little monster nodded.
Lord Xiao Xiao had given it so many oranges. It would feel bad eating them all by itself.
Lord Xiao Xiao should have some too.
"Then let's eat together."
Xiao Xiao took the peeled orange the little monster offered him.
He put a segment in his mouth.
Sweet juice burst across his tongue.
He narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Mmm, very sweet."
"Gugu~ Gugu~"
The little monster imitated Xiao Xiao, putting an orange segment into its mouth.
Then it cupped its cheeks in both paws, looking utterly blissful.
Xiao Xiao chuckled.
He couldn't resist reaching out to pat the little monster's head.
The
