If they'd heard...
Why hadn't they responded?
What had happened to that girl?
They compared the photo with the surroundings and found the spot where the girl had been photographed.
It was behind the carousel ride.
A few bushes.
And two trash cans.
They continued farther in.
The noise of the crowd grew louder again.
Looking at the tourists coming and going, everyone seemed a little bewildered.
"Captain Chen."
A short-haired police officer came jogging over, looking rather excited.
The dark-skinned officer's eyes lit up.
"Any news?"
"Yeah."
The short-haired officer nodded firmly. "Captain Cai's team found something."
Captain Cai and the other officers had been checking the surveillance footage at the service center.
"They found Sha Sha in line at the Ferris wheel five minutes ago."
"The Ferris wheel?"
Captain Chen raised an eyebrow. "Five minutes ago?"
This was certainly good news.
He immediately turned around. "Come on, let's go to the Ferris wheel."
"I'll show you the way."
Before Captain Chen could feel awkward, Xiao Xiao spoke up at just the right moment.
"Okay."
Captain Chen gave Xiao Xiao an approving look.
The young man knew how to read the room.
The group quickly reached the Ferris wheel.
They had been notified in advance, so staff members had formed a circle around the area.
They were asking the tourists waiting in line, as well as those who wanted to leave, to stay for the time being.
The tourists were confused.
The line continued moving as usual.
But tourists who had just finished their ride were asked not to leave yet.
Just as people were growing increasingly unhappy, the police and Xiao Xiao arrived.
Without wasting time, they began searching and asking questions.
The Ferris wheel was now empty.
