Taotie charged over with quite an imposing air. Xiao Xiao's eyes curved with amusement, and he couldn't help finding it funny.
What happened next...
was truly rather unexpected.
Shangqing Boy and Taotie seemed to have it out for each other.
Back and forth.
Neither yielding an inch.
Locked in a fierce contest.
The two monsters repeatedly found themselves glaring at each other over a single pastry.
Ahem.
The glaring here was meant quite literally.

Shangqing Boy's eyes were round and large.
Taotie's eyes looked all right on its tiny body.
But next to Shangqing Boy, they looked especially like little black beans.
Xiao Xiao swallowed the laughter that had risen in his throat.
He didn't interfere with the two monsters' squabble.
As long as they didn't actually start fighting,

He continued with what he was doing.

He curled his lips at the few monsters who had looked over at the scent.
"Would you like some tea?"
The large box of pastries was soon emptied thanks to the monsters' enthusiasm.
The only thing that surprised him a little was that Shangqing, who looked like an otherworldly immortal, and Taotie had been utterly unwilling to yield when it came to who got the pastries.
The two monsters had nearly come to blows several times.
So...
His gaze fell on Shangqing.
Was Shangqing Boy really so hot-tempered?
Its temperament was so different from the impression its appearance gave that it was almost hard to believe.
Shangqing Boy lowered its eyes.
It felt a little awkward.
Only now did it realize that perhaps it had gone a bit too
